been avoided by a simple Pre-Ride Inspection. Although
nothing can prevent mechanical break downs, there is much
you can do to help avoid this situation. Below are a few

PROTECTIVE
CLOTHING
Oddly enough Protective Clothing seems to be one of the most
over looked safety items. Ive seen riders show up to
ride wearing only shorts and sandals. And then try to keep
up with other riders wearing full body armor. Protective
Clothing is more than just a safety issue, its a
comfort issue as well. How many times have you heard that
story of that guy or gal who got wet and when the sun went
down they got cold. In order to enjoy the great outdoors you
have to dress for the ever changing weather. Protective
Clothing is worth the investment! How much is a Helmet worth
compared to the cost of the trip to the hospital. Think
about it, always wear Protective Clothing it pays.
RULES TO DRESS
BY
1. Always wear a SNELL or DOT approved helmet.
2. Always wear Boots. Motocross or Work boots. Full over the
calf motocross boots offer the most protection.
3. Always wear EYE protection. Sunglasses are not goggles.
Goggles will protect your eyes properly.
4. Gloves provide protection from abrasions and help to keep
your hands from getting sore, tired or cold.
5. A long sleeved shirt will help to reduce abrasions and
scratches to your arms.
6. Pants should be made of a tough material and completely
cover the legs.
7. Shoulder, knee and elbow pads will provide extra
protection in case of a fall.
8. A kidney belt can be worn for lower back support and
extra protection of the lower torso.
9. Always carry extra clothing in the event that you get wet
or the temperature drops.
10. Always carry rain gear. Mud pants and Rain jackets will
help to keep you warm and dry.
